In the early 20th Century, surrounded by sparkling crystal and white linen, fortunate passengers enjoyed first-rate menus and fine wines whilst travelling on the most glamorous express trains of the day.
Bringing history to life in six rich and colourful 45-minute programmes, we step back into a gentler pace of life and become acquainted with passengers and railwaymen alike through the food they ate and, turning to vintage cookbooks, we recreate the romance of the on-train feasts they prepared.
